Day 2 - V&A

Today was a bit hectic as I had still not got my staff pass for the staff entrance, so I had a few issues as I forgot my managers second name and had no contact for her. Eventually at 10 minutes later they manage to find out who she is and she came to fetch me.
To start the day we went into an all staff meeting with the first ever Q&A for the Director to answer, most were heckles. I had no idea what the questions were referring to but after there were are few presentations on new exhibitions and the development of the V&A building.
After, we went back and began working on book slips and putting the books into the pigeon holes for the visitors, we learned that they could be kept out for 3 days as the books wouldn't need to be handled as often that way.
We then had our break for an hour.
Later, we were trained on putting books back which meant having to use the pressmarks on the side to keep them in their order, the staff slips were kept but the others were disregarded. For me finding the correct space was hard. Then, we began ordering them periodically which I found extreemly easy.
By the time we had completed that, it was time for us to go home.
So far the day had been simple but we almost always had something to do which I enjoyed.
Theres two photos attatched, one of the new build and the other of the clothes I wore.

My First Day As a Service Assistant Apprentice at the V&A

Today was interesting learning mainly where we are going to work and just in general the V&A Museum. I had a great insite into the Staffs daily tasks and was interested and eager to begin.
We began by handing in all our important documents in to someone who worked in  HR. After, we were showed our way to the library by Joanne. She is wuite important to all of us but most importantly me as she is my manager. She will be helping me through my NVQ and also giving me an incite more into the collection side of the Library, where as the others are nore information services. I have my own desk and log in, it took a while to set up but works well and I've almost got the hang of it.
At lunch we went to the staff Caffee where we ate and I had bought pork chopin sauce, new potatoes, sweetcorn and string beans. It was quite nice, it all seemed very posh, as I expected bacon, chips etc.
After, we did a fire emergency talk and what to do in the purpose of a fire and how drills go off usually before the public enter the building.
We later went down and had tea, after talking to someone else (no names included) about our shifts and rota, also what we are meant to be doing for the week and next. I believe that all of the girls are older than me.
My day was fine till ruined by public transport. The crowds, lack of personal space and those dame barrages. They winded me shutting sharply and hard on my chest. Got so angry, i knew I couldnt be and got upset instead and easily aggitated. I accidently kept snapping at Connor I apologised but I stoll feel bad.
Only had 2 hours sleep so now I'm incredibly tired and missing my Fiancé Connor more than imaginable. It is the only thing holding me back apart from our dog we have together, Ruby.

First day overall:  Moderate/Okay
