For my final Piece of Unit 10, I will be producing my work on a canvas. Prior to begining the foreground, the canvas material has been placed in a turqoise dye and usong elastic bands I have created a tye-dye effect. This has then been streatched out to create a fully mounted wooden canvas. Using the background as a interpritation of the sea and its abstract and intense colours, I have used my foreground to link to the background, with the foreground together. The composition is very wide and full. The persepective and aspect of this image os much like you are underneath it. My foreground consists of the mouth and tentacles of a octapus. This is in its most realistic form as possible. I have then used the same inspiration seen in my experiments and designs of Gustavsson to create the mostion, that of which the octopus is falling towards us. I believe that the realism is inspired by both Gustavsson and Verbiest but I have used my own ideas and interests to portray this piece. The oils were hard to work with and would sink quickly into the calico. But I managed to work with this by using an underlayer of paint on my foreground.
