Today I went into the 3D workshop to work on experiments for my Final Piece. I had already drawn my plan and had asked for an A4 sized piece of MDF wooden board. On this board I used tracing paper to copy my original design onto the wood, however, it wasnt taking to the wood so i free handed the design. My tutor then guided me on how to use the Pyrograph pen considering health and saftey, that the pen has a circular metal plate that goes around the mid section of the pen so your fingers dont slip and touch the nib and also how to place it in its stand when complete. We also went through keeping a safe distance and watching fingers, hands and clothing getting caught and burnt and the procedure to do so if it did happen (cold running water and contacting first aid). I also tried out some methods first of shading before starting. After this I began to create a synge mark on the outline of my design, it was hard to get a well defined line but i began to do small sections to overcome this issue. The final outcome was how I expected ot and went really well. I believe this may be a great way to do my final piece.
